Question by Jim D: Has anyone r.v. camped in Jalama,ca ?
I would like to rent either a 5th wheel travel trailer or r.v to camp on the beach. 2-3 hours north of L.A. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated? I am also planning a “romantic” week end with the wife for our anniversary.If you know of any beachfront hotels between Santa Barbara and Monterey. Thanks in advance.

Jalama is great. Isolated, a bit tricky to get to, and tricky to get INto (especially during summer), but a wee bit of paradise. Can get a bit windy, though. But definitely worth the drive.
After all that driving, a Jalama Burger is mighty tasty.
Beachfron Hotels:
Santa Barbara: Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort. Very nice.
Monterey: Spindrift Inn, Cannery Row.
Pacific Grove: Green Gables Inn, Gosby House Inn. Both are muy romantico.
